Congratulations for a recognition-milestone!

We are happy to announce that the paper Coronary Artery Calcium Score Predicts Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Stable Chest Pain by Federico Biavati, Luca Saba, and their collaborators has achieved a remarkable milestone! It has been recognized as the 4th most viewed article in its category by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

This research, published in the journal Radiology, highlights the prognostic value of coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in symptomatic patients with stable chest pain. Conducted as part of the large-scale DISCHARGE trial, the study evaluated over 1,700 participants across 26 centers in 16 countries, making significant contributions to the field of cardiovascular imaging.

Key findings include:

  • Patients with a CAC score of 0 showed an exceptionally low risk of MACE.
  • Higher CAC scores were associated with increased risks of obstructive coronary artery disease, revascularization, and MACE.
  • The study underscores the utility of CAC scoring in stratifying cardiovascular risk among symptomatic patients.

This recognition reflects the impact of the study on the scientific community and its potential to influence clinical practices worldwide.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Federico Biavati, Luca Saba, and the entire team of authors, including co-senior authors Maria Bosserdt and Prof. Marc Dewey.
